American Business Water Coalition calls on Congress to prioritize water and avoid funding cliff

Statement from American Business Water Coalition CEO, Mae Stevens.

Statement from American Business Water Coalition CEO, Mae Stevens:

“As Congress returns to finalize FY2025 appropriations, it remains crucial that federal lawmakers prioritize increased funding for water infrastructure. Maintaining last year’s funding levels simply isn’t enough, especially as $1.25 trillion is needed over the next 20 years to keep our water systems safe, resilient and reliable. We have made progress with recent federal investments in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, but without renewed support, our country risks facing a funding cliff that could undo these gains. Water infrastructure is the backbone of every business and community nationwide. The American Business Water Coalition urges Congress to act now to safeguard the future of our country’s economy and well-being.”

The American Business Water Coalition is a group of water-reliant businesses—from manufacturing to energy to tech and beyond. The coalition provides a platform for businesses across the country to urge Congress and the Administration to increase investment in water infrastructure, and foster relationships between businesses and their local utilities.
